Our Mission and History
Thank you again to all our shoppers, consignors, and volunteers. This is just one of ways all the sales and donations from the Spring/Summer Children’s Consignment Sale impact others: mtbethel.org/your-consignment-items-making-a-difference/.
The Mt. Bethel Children’s Consignment Sale (MBCCS) was established in 1979, by a woman of volunteers. The goal was to share the love and helping hands of Christ to those in and around the community through shopping. Members and non-members of MBUMC were encouraged to sell items their children had outgrown and to purchase new gently-used items. Proceeds made from the sale went to support various missions. While the sale has grown exponentially, the mission of the sale remains intact. Proceeds from the sale go to support domestic and international missions. Additionally, unsold items are given to families in need locally and across the world. The sale continues to be overseen by a committee of women volunteers who rely on men and women in and around the community to consign, shop and volunteer.
The MBCCS sale is managed by members of Mt. Bethel UMC who agree to volunteer countless hours to the ministry. In turn they rely on hundreds of individuals from all denominations to volunteer, consign, and shop. This community sale is conducted twice a year: once in the Fall and again in the Spring.
